Our Romantic Michigan Inn Policies

Check-In

Check-in begins at 3pm at our adults-only Southwest Michigan bed and breakfast. Information is provided in the Reminder email that a guest receives closer to the check-in date. Please have this information handy when you arrive.  Entry into the inn is at the Main Entrance off of the large wrap-around porch at the front of the house. Use the walkway from the parking lot to walk around the house to the front Main Entrance. Check-in is informal. An innkeeper will be on the premises between 3p and 6p to tend to your needs.

Check-Out

Check-out time is 11am.  Any time after 11am will incur an automatic late check-out charge of $45 to the credit card on file, unless you have a formal late check-out upon booking.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made via email or phone call. Cancellations made up to 14 days before your arrival date will result in a full refund of your deposit, less a $25 administrative fee per room, per night. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival date will result in the forfeiture of your deposit (50% of total reservation. Cancellations with less than 72-hour notice or no-shows, are charged 100% of the entire reservation.

All bookings will be charged 50% of the entire stay and all additional packages purchased at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be charged as early as 3 days prior to your booked date. Packages are not refundable as we invest in the package before you arrive.

Whole-House (5-6 Rooms) bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made within 30 days of the arrival date will be charged the remaining 50% balance.

Smoking

Smoking of any substance is not permitted inside the inn. Smoking may only be done outside, 20 feet away from the inn. A smoking cleaning fee of $350 will be charged automatically if this policy is not followed. We encourage adherence to this policy.

Pets

Pets are not allowed at our romantic, historic Michigan inn due to the antiques within the Inn’s public rooms and guest rooms and for the sake of your fellow guests.

Keys

We trust our guests will leave our keys with us. Should a guest take the key and not send it back, the card on file will be charged a $100 replacement fee. This fee is to cover the cost of replacing the antique handle and the key. In all cases, we would rather have the key returned by the guest.

Children

Many of our guests are visiting for a romantic stay and there are delicate, breakable items throughout the house, so this inn only accommodates ages 18+. Otherwise, you will incur an automatic charge of $150 per child.  We encourage your adherence to this policy.

Additional Guests

Room rates (inclusive of breakfast) are based on double occupancy only.. We cannot accommodate more than two guests in a room. Otherwise, you will incur an automatic charge of $150 per extra person. We encourage and appreciate your adherence to this policy.

Accessibility

Jade Estate Inn warmly welcomes all adult guests. However, our historic Allegan, Michigan property recognized and listed in the National Register of Historic Places is not wheelchair accessible. Removal of necessary physical barriers for accessibility is not readily achievable as such removal would threaten or destroy the historic significance of the property.

Accessible Accommodations

  • Zoe Room is a ground floor room located in the Carriage House adjacent to the Main House. This is the only room that is on ground-level. It has a narrow entrance.
  • Breakfast can be delivered to the room upon request, since access to the Main House and dining area require negotiating steps at the front of the Inn.

Physical Barriers Include

  • The navigation of steps required to enter the Main House.
  • The Main House does not have an elevator.
  • The Main House and Carriage House are historic structures that have narrow hallways and doorways which cannot accommodate the use of a wheelchair or scooter.

We work to ensure every guest who wishes to visit can do so regardless of their physical abilities. Among the ways we comply with ADA:

  1. We ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals without disabilities.
  2. We have identified and described the features in our bed and breakfast and guest rooms in detail to allow individuals with disabilities to determine whether our B&B meets their needs.
  3. We ensure that accessible guest rooms are held for use by individuals with disabilities until all other guest rooms of that type have been booked.
  4. We guarantee that the specific rooms, once reserved, are held for the reserving customer. We make reasonable efforts with third-party reservation systems to make all rooms available through at least some of these services and they must provide these third-party services with information concerning the features of the hotel and rooms.
  5. Guests with legitimate service animals, as defined in the ADA, will be provided access to all areas of the inn afforded to those without service animals.

We are committed to facilitating the accessibility and usability of this website for all people with disabilities. We will continue to implement the relevant portions of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA) or such other standards as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As a data controller, upon consent, we will collect and process your personal information in order to provide you with superior service, analyze your travel and accommodation preferences, and inform you of specials, packages and events. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

The processing of personal data, such as the name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number of our customers, shall to the best of our knowledge, be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and in accordance with country-specific data protection regulations.

  • We only collect personal data to be able to deliver accommodations in a safe and legal way for both us and the guest and in line with required regulations.
  • As we only use personal data for the purposes mentioned in the point above we assume guest give consent by a clear affirmative action (entering their own personal data by themselves and confirming the reservation by pressing a button in the system).
  • We collect the following personal data: name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card data.
  • We never collect personal data for accompanying children under 16.
  • We never use personal data for profiling purposes.
  • We never sell or use personal data that we have received to a third party.
  • Subscriptions to receive email updates will be held indefinitely.
  • You may request deletion of your data from our marketing databases by opting out of consent.
  • If you wish to update, remove, or add to the information collected by our website or held by our marketing team, you may submit your request on our website or by email to jadeestateinn.com.
  • Any incident related to a data breach or theft of data is immediately reported to the Privacy Commission.

Customer Access to Data Requests

  • If a customer asks for their personal data, we will provide it free of charge.
  • We communicate the personal data we store to our customer both through the booking confirmation and in the arrival information. The only exception to this rule is credit card information which we only send encrypted and only upon specific request.

Email Marketing

We operate an email mailing list program used to inform consented subscribers about news, specials, and events. Email marketing messages may contain tracking beacons, tracked clickable links, or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Our customers are informed regularly by means of a newsletter about offers, specials and events. The customer may only receive our newsletter by (1) having a valid e-mail address and (2) the customer consents to the subscription.

The personal data collected as part of a registration for the newsletter is only used to send our newsletter. There will be no transfer of personal data collected by the newsletter service to third parties. The subscription to our newsletter may be terminated by the customer at any time. The consent to the storage of personal data, which the customer has given, may be cancelled at any time. To unsubscribe to our newsletter, a corresponding link is found in each newsletter. It is also possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by email or in writing.
